A reluctant inkwright repairs sigils that rewrite themselves if read carelessly. When a student's notes open a margin in reality, the academy pretends it is tradition. The oath that bound ink to paper begins to bind people too, line by careful line. To fix what they unleashed, they must write a truth expensive enough to cost a name.
